Why do people believe all this 2012 end of the world mumbo jumbo?

Over the last few yrs the world was supposed to end in 1906, 1997, 1999 and 2006. they are all stupid prophecies which have never come true.
The point is one day they will be right but only because after 2012 they will say 'we had it wrong it is 2021' and so on until they are near enough right. It is hardly a prophecy. Its more of a case 'think of every day as your last. One day you will be right'
Why do people believe this crap but yet refuse to believe in something more scientific like global warming for arguments sake?
Personally I think this 2012 crap is to get people talking so they watch this new disaster movie that has been released.

For a species which is based on a life form to operate on a Planet, it needs to have input from its environment to fulfill its mission. Even if that mission is as simple as being born, procreating the next generation, and then dying. During its mission it needs to operate to fulfill that duty and responsibility for the survival of that species correct? Indeed that is correct.

Now then as we explore other worlds, moons, planets and the Universe how do you suppose other life forms, intelligent or other wise will perform these tasks? What senses will they have or need to possess to fulfill their lives mission? Perhaps they will be similar in nature to those on the Planet Earth or maybe they will have additional senses or be minus some of those senses most common on the Earth? This subject recently came up in an online think tank when a guest member stated;

"As for the other senses, they are the basic templates for perceiving the world around one, and almost all animals on earth possess them to some degree - perception of light, vibration, texture, temperature, gases (smells), and ph or flavor. Beyond this though, they may have a heightened sensitivity to radiation of any kind, or greater bands of the EM spectrum that we aren't sufficiently exposed to or reliant on to ever evolve sensitivity to."

It would stand to reason that we will find some of the same things on other worlds that we find on Earth and indeed we will find many other potential senses we have never experienced here on Earth as well. Nevertheless we will continue our quest for life on other worlds and we will be both humbled and enlightened as we do. So, consider all this in 2006.

2012- a date that has frightened some, enlightened others, and left the rest in a very confused state of disbelief about the true nature of the universe. This date is known to many as either a doomsday, ascension, the end of the world, or the awakening of the inner conscious mind. There have been many stories told, stories that were sold, and lies that were spread to inflict fear within peoples minds.

Over the last year this subject has been on my mind too many times to simply let go and hold just someone accountable for the truth. So my duty was to uncover many sources of information that stayed within the fields of metaphysics and spirituality.

Some of the sources I found to be quite truthful to my inner self were Kim Michaels, The Ra Material, Gerardus with his self written information. Other information was coming from David Wilcock's perspective, as well as Jon Peniel's. There were a few documentaries I've seen of the past year on this subject as well, which will be listed below.

The Bright Side

The most important thing I can stress about this whole topic is to look at it from an open mind, put fear aside, and start looking at it from the bright side. If you try to understand anything through fear, all it will do is create more fear. This will be reflected within the cosmic mirror and cause you to make very selfish actions. These actions can be seen in people who panic about a cataclysm and react with their egos only being concerned about themselves. Those certain individuals usually end up paying the consequences with their reactions that never tend to be positive.

If you really tune into your Higher Self and begin to feel the presence of your intuitive side, you can act and react in a very calm mind state and make the right decisions whenever reading or doing tasks.

Furthermore, it's important to take in the probability factors and the Free Will law that governs this universe when trying to conclude of what will happen during the 'events' and when it will happen. Nothing can be certain at any stage, that's well known to everyone, this is exactly why you should keep your knowledge of this coming event in a very wide range of possibilities and take away your fear state of mind.

Another factor that comes into play about this certain event is the level of conscious of the 'society complex' as Ra puts it. The free will of people to increase their consciousness and vibrations can significantly increase the chances of this transition (birth) of a New Age to be smooth, or if not we will have to 'buckle our seatbelts.'

On the side not an interesting link that Jon Peniel pointed out was the song done by Neil Young called "After the Gold Rush", which relates quite a lot to the upcoming events and the way it might actually happen. In general most of his songs I noticed have a spiritual theme and key concepts of what we might have in store for us in the future.

The Basics!

To get to know the idea of what is about to occur, we have to understand the basic concepts behind it. Without a foundation of understanding the end cycle, you aren't going to be able to view this event from your own perspective, and make up your own mind to how you will deal with it.

So to start we have to understand that one major life cycle of the density that we currently live on is 25,000 years in span. The Earths span between the current dimension she is in is 75,000 years. We are currently on the edge of both of these timelines. We are coming to a closing of the 75,000 year long cycle of the Earth and our 3rd harvest of this dimension.

Our planet is currently in the 4th density, progressing towards the 5th density of life support, which means that the inhabitants after the New Age will be living in a 4th density state, rather than the current 3rd density. The Earth although is in a very confused state according to Ra, this is due to the social memory complex that currently inhabits this plane (Humans). This is why the level of consciousness must increase before the next harvest or the transition of the birth to the new state will be quite dramatic.

The current motto of the headlines in our days is "will 2012 happen?", but that's the wrong question to be asking at this stage. Ra specifically states that in the early 1900's the changes for the transition of the Earth began, so it's not a if it will happen, because it already has. The changes though are quite different then those of the past of when it began because it is happening faster and faster as we reach the ending of this cycle.

A very informative and detailed examination of this transition of consciousness can be found in Ian Lungolds videos on the Mayan Calendar. He works out how consciousness changes since the universe first collected itself together, and what we should be expecting by the end. We currently according to the Mayans are on the Galactic consciousness, which started in 1999, and records each day and night to be exactly 360 days long. This is until we reach Universal Consciousness (co-creation) in the year 2011, at that point each day and night will only last 20 days in length. When that comes to an end, the cycle is to shift to a New Age.

Ra also ensures us that there will be a great change occurring in the future, from when the channeling was done in 1981. He stated that the changes will continue for another 30 years, so if we do the math this points toward the year 2011-12. If we want to take a closer look at the other ancient cultures, we can quickly scan through those of.

Cultures and 2012

Hopi: An ancient civilization that currently live in Arizona, who predicted the coming of the "White Man", several of the world wars, and the nuclear dispute in the super powers of the world. They go on to say that there will be the New Age, where all of this will come to an end and humanity will enter into the '5th world'.

Mayans: As we know the Mayans have the long count calendar that is coming to an end, and re-entering a New Age, they also pinpoint 2012, in fact they are the most talked about who predicted this date, although not the only ones. According to them we are entering the completion of creation.

Zulu: Give information saying that the "whole world will be turned upside down", which makes sense because the world as we know it is currently in space/time, but will be entering a time/space according to lot's of sources.

Hindus: Following the Lunar calendar the Hindu prophecy of Lord Krishna is supposed to occur as well. The prophecy is almost precisely the same as the Mayans have predicted, yet both these cultures never met. They say this is the end of the Kali Yuga (end time of man) and the rebirth of the enlightened ones on this plane.

Incas: The Inca calendar also ends on the year of 2012, they also mention the turning over of life, the renewal of life. They mention several times of an aligning of the planets which will bring forth the New Age, which relates to the science community of the aligning of the Earth, Sun, and our galaxy.

Aztec: Also similar prophecies as to the Mayans and the rest of the ancient cultures. They too point to the date of 2012, in December at 11: 11 to be exact. They follow the long count calendar which is do to end on that date. For them it is a time of the 6th sun, a New Age of creation.

Dogon: Have a bit of a different take on it, they talk about a returning of a spaceship to form a new blue star, which seems to be relating to us and the Earth, and the new times ahead.

Cherokee: Another very ancient culture points to the date of 2012 as well.

Tibetan: The Tibetan teachings also prophesize of the New Age that is coming up ahead in our time, left by the Buddha himself.

Egyptians: Also have the same perspective, on their stone calendar, and it ending in 2012 A.D.

Those are just the main cultures that point towards this date/time of the coming age. This is backed up with lot's of theories and metaphysical science, not all provable, and probably never will be for it will inflict the Law of Free Will on many levels.

Christ Consciousness

Another source that would fit very well with ascension is that of Kim Michaels, and his channeling to Christ. Everyone is capable of attaining this mindset to be guided by the Ascended masters, but because most simply choose not to attain that level/believe in it, doesn't make it a false way of attaining truth like I hear from most.

Jesus' words were of this "There is indeed a spiritual cycle that will come to an end in the year 2012. However, one cycle coming to an end simply means that a new cycle begins. The end of the old cycle sets the foundation for a new cycle."

He points out that the world as a whole will not be raised into a new vibrational field allowing all to enter this state because not all people are on the same level of consciousness in this current space/time.

Most people that believe in this date, keep the mindset of something external is going to be happening that will 'save' them, so it gives them the right to do what they want now and not have to pay consequences. According to Jesus' this is the very opposite of the path of being 'saved' or in other terms raising your level of consciousness to be harvested to the new 4th density plane that is about to occur.

The way to really show this by being unselfishly loving, compassionate, and humble as a person towards others. It might sound very general but this is a really simply concept to keep in mind to be in a positive world. If you can imagine this new world with the same people as you see today in ours, how would it be so different? So always keep in mind your inner self creates the image of your outer world, by becoming an unselfishly loving and compassionate person, this is what you will experience now and in the New Age.

As we said before, there won't be any external harvest and change, unless you are talking about the Earth. The way you are placed in your proper density is by looking at your own level of consciousness, refer to this map. Ra also points this out the same way when the social complex say that when people are harvested it is based on vibrations. The harvest is to occur using thought form, rather then what we know as space/time when the New Age is to come.

Significance Of The Final Years

There are many ways you can interpret the final years before 2012, from the information I've been gathering the years seem to each have major significance. Each individual can highly benefit from knowing the current stages of mass consciousness to awake and synchronize with it.

According to Mother Mary from Kim Michaels, the year 2009 represents the Father aspect, or the Father Cycle, 2010 represents the Son, the Christ, 2011 represents the Mother, and finally 2012 represents the Holy Spirit.

To go to another source and to compare in relation, Geradus signifies these years as 2008 will be the year of awakening, 2009 as the year you will be transformed (I believe in your own choosing to Love), 2010 is the ear you will be transcended, 2011 you will become enlightened, and 2012 it will be all over, and the birth of the New Age will begin.

Here is another very useful link to be used time to time to see the level of mass consciousness, and the rates it has been growing. The numbers have been jumping in the past years a lot, and will continue until the end of the birth.

Another interesting tool to use for you to understand the levels of consciousness and how they are spread out right now.

"Some calibrated 'facts':

Percentage of "Star kids/Seeds/Wanderers" on the Planet: 40 - 45% of population (measured 04/10/08).

All are in different stages of Awakening. Some are "dormant", some have begun their process of Awakening and some are more or less fully "Awakened". Many are probably still children. All come from 4th density or higher.

Average "incarnation LoC" for all living Wanderers on the planet: around 360.

Average "incarnation LoC" for all Terrestrials on the planet: around 150. "

So What Now?

Well to end this article I'd like to include that it's important not to be afraid of this time that is about to occur. Imagine if you will a patient who has a very serious disease and unless cured will die, and the cure exists and the appointment for the operation is set. Well the Ascension/Ending of the Cycle/New Age/2012 or any other name you want to twist on it works in the same concept.

We humans are the virus, according to Ra the original state of this planet was supporting first and second dimensional beings. Until races from Mars and Maldek had to be transferred here to continue/finish their 3rd density cycle, after completely destroying their home planet.

The Earth is in a very confused state because of the 'society complex' that inhabits it at the current time/space, so the healing has to occur now that her 75,000 year cycle is coming to an end, and there is no canceling that. So the changes will be shown through nature, one of which is the heating up of the planet, as David Wilcock spoke of in his podcasts/books, and it can be seen clearly as the years go by.

So do not panic, do not try to run because there is no point, the best thing to do is accept it, and remember you are going to return home, and the New Age will be born for all to live in.

When I read the blog that follows, I was reminded of a conversation that I had with Marvin Wilson and Steven Martin on my BlogTalkRadio show. We were discussing the book, THE TRUTH, and what we foresaw as events centering on the year 2012. I mentioned that we are at a stage where there is a "Confluence of Events." In other words, many things are happening in the world at the same time. Individually, these events have happened before, but the difference is that now they are happening all at once.

In the past, there have been periods of global warming and massive cooling. There have been disruptions in the natural order of things. In the past there have been political, social, economic and environmental upheavals. But, in the past, these events tended to occur singularly or in related groupings. For example, the Depression of 1929 was an economic event that was followed by major political events. George Washington had to deal with a "mini-ice age" when crossing the Delaware. There have been periods of climatic calamity which had major economic impacts. But today, things are a bit different. Many events are' flowing together' simultaneously. Thus, we have a confluence of events.

The world is dealing with major climatic, social, economic and political events all at once. While the recent focus has been on economic issues, climate change is still accelerating at un-predicted rates. Many social systems are crumbling and religious institutions are fighting for survival. The world political stage is changing dramatically and war looms as a real issue in many parts of the globe. "According to the Mayan way of measuring and keeping time we are at the end of one age of the Sun, each age lasting 5125 years.

To understand more or less how the Mayan calendar works requires study but we can say as an overview that the Mayans counted and measured many more cycles than we do.

And they inter-relate these cycles as if they were cogs of a giant machine giving each day a unique combination of influences that take into account not only the movement of the Earth, Sun and Moon but also Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and, furthermore, much wider cosmic movements at a galactic level. This system is much more accurate and precise than other calendar systems in other cultures, giving the Mayans the honor of having been the experts in the movements of the celestial bodies and of time.

Their study of these movements in space and time also gave rise to very interesting observations about the distinct influences that affect the Earth and the Solar System in which we are traveling through the great galactic spaces.

For the Maya the 21st December 2012 will be the end of a 5125 year creation cycle. A cycle that began in 3114 BC in our calendar. It is the end of a 13 Baktun round and the beginning of a new creation... or in modern terminology it's the end of one age and the beginning of a New Age. It also corresponds to an alignment of our solar system to the centre of the galaxy.

What this will mean for us who are alive in this time witnessing the events that take place on the planet will depend on many things, not least our state of consciousness.

It is interesting to also note the extent to which the dates of the Mayan calendar co-inside with other information as much on the scientific side as on the side of prophecies in various cultures.

According to the Incas we are presently entering a new Pachakutik or a new era on this planet. According to traditional elders in Peru the process of the new Pachakutik began in 1990 and this process of changing Pachakutiks takes 22 years... being completed in August 2012...The Hopi elders have also said that the Earth is in a time of purification and preparation that began in 1998 and will end in... 2012.

Seneca elders also say that we are in the midst of a 25 years purification period that will end in 2012. In South Africa an 80 year old Zulu Shaman has spoken of a certain star with a long tail that will return thousands of years after it was last seen, causing big climatic and weather changes. He said it would return in the year red bull which corresponds to 2012 in our calendar. The Maoris say that at the beginning of time the Earth and sky were pushed apart by the Gods of the sea, the wind and war and that they will eventually crash back together in the year 2012.

Studies of the I Ching have revealed that this system of prediction reaches a kind of zero point in the year 2012.

A number of reported Near Death Experiences have also spoken of being shown visions of the future in which there were dramatic changes on the planet by the year 2012.

Especially interesting are studies with children that have had near death experiences and reported changes on the planet with relation to climate, society and consciousness, all pointing toward 2012.

Changes in the Earths Geomagnetic field are being noted by scientists who say that the Geomagnetic field is dropping and in recent times, dropping at an ever increasing rate. When it reaches zero point there will be a reversal of planetary polarity. The Canadian government has been monitoring the North Pole and say that it has been moving since 1904 but since 1974 its moving 4 times faster than before. Meanwhile, French Geologists have noted areas where polarities are being reversed in the ocean to the south of South Africa. They say that the magnetic fields are disappearing around the poles and that there are huge masses of molten iron beneath the earth's surface at the poles that are rotating in a reverse direction, weakening the magnetic fields.

Siberian geologist Dr Alexey Dimitriev has studied at length increased solar activity and the Earth's magnetic field and concludes that a reversal is underway and this he says, also relates to temperature changes and the frequency of earthquakes, hurricanes, floods etc which have increased by 600% in the past 40 years. Dimitriev says, also that the solar system is moving through a plasma cloud... (Plasma is like a gas of electrons) and that this also is affecting the climate, the geo-magnetic field and other planetary and atmospheric elements.

At the centre of a tornado or hurricane vacuums are created that are related to phenomena such as fire balls and other lights. The frequency of these kinds of phenomena is also in the increase although physics doesn't fully understand why.

In reality there are many different types of phenomena that are presenting themselves and pushing the boundaries of what we know in relation to the mechanics of the universe and to more than one of the more open minded scientists around say that we are heading toward some kind of zero point that will lead to dramatic changes and also great revelations as to the nature of many of the mysteries still not understood by our science."

The above is a fairly good summary about the context of 2012 prophecies. Much of what is mentioned about science can be verified at various NASA and other scientific sites. The UN's IPCC can certainly verify the very real climate shifts that are occurring. So where does this lead us? Is 2012 the end of the world? I, for one, do not think so and neither do most mystics nor secret societies believe the "end" is near. However, there is consensus that dramatic changes are happening and that the pace of change is quickening. The actual direction of that change will have its course set by mass consciousness. If society adopts an attitude of fear, the times may be real rough. On the other hand, if people decide that it is truly time for the old ways, the old paradigm, to go the way of the dinosaur, we may well enter a new age of enlightenment.

Over the coming months, much will be said about 2012. In January, the History Channel will have another show about Nostradamus and his predictions concerning 2012. In all likelihood, they will not get it right since their last show on the Books of Nostradamus caved in to the peddlers of fear. There is no question that the religious right is using 2012 as a means to frighten people into thing that these are the "End Times." Again, buying in to that fear may well be self-fulfilling. The key here is to keep an open mind. Examine all of the data and mania that will be surfacing in greater depth in 2009 and try to see the positive in all things. For example, new retail sales reports will soon show that that holiday spending at the end of 2008 was a disaster. While that sounds bad, another look may indicate that the consumer has finally decided to end its spending spree that has almost decimated the world's environment. That is a positive thing. With new priorities being set by the Obama administration, it may well be possible that, despite near economic collapse, we may not be entering a time where our public priorities have now veered in a more positive direction. Will the Phoenix arise from the ashes of the burning old world? Only time will tell.

What is important to remember that prophesy is written in the language of symbols. They are frequently coded and meant to carry to future generations of initiates important information regarding the future of humanity. This is why, when interpreted literally, you see all of the doom and gloom. As I mentioned in some of my previous articles, "NOSTRADAMUS: They Have It All Wrong," images such as the burning tower or the Tarot Death Card are seen as images of impending disaster by the untrained. This view is very far from the 'truth.' Changing paradigms and the destruction of old belief systems are a part of life. The Renaissance, Age of Enlightenment, the Scientific Revolution are but a few examples represented by the burning tower. So when you watch shows, like the upcoming History Channel 2012 production, do not take the literal and superficial interpretations to heart. Great change is coming, but it is not great disaster, except for those who want to preserve the 'old ways.'

ok so I was watching some TV...on discover chanell ahah...and I was into the 2012 end of the world for about 6 months but I sort of forgot about it until a commercial came up showing...that earth distruction is at 2012 and they have this website http://www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/#/lottery ...Ok so its like a lottery thing may seem like a scam but really what is your opinion on this? cus im still confused if its really going to end or not.. .

The 2012 end of the world conspiracy?

How can the Mayan calendar be used as supporting evidence? My uncle is a professor of ancient history and the end of a Mayan long count calendar is a time of great celebration for the Mayans because Their civilization has lasted so long or for some other reason. Also a pole shift as many people believe will be the result of the end of the world is another horrible idea, this is because a pole shift is a naturally occurring planetary event which happens over hundreds of years so the events aren't catastrophic enough to destroy the universe. And as for the solar system being in alignment the closest time for the alignment of all of our planets has already happened and I believe it was in 1997 if I am remembing correctly.

i have been very interested about area 51 what goes on and other aliens activities and stuff related. i have looked over the interent to do with area 51 and try and find out whats going on. which to be honest im wasting my time. but the same thing keeps popping up.

the thing that keeps popping up is the year 2012 and the fact it might end to do with paranormal activities. stuff like crop circles and other things are signs we are ment to read from aliens and other out of space beings.

A lot of the media are saying that the Mayan Calendar predicts December 21, 2012 as the "end of the world." For those of you who are already in the know about the history of this ancient timetable, this is utter nonsense. But as we delve deeper into some of the facts and theories surrounding this date, we begin to understand the thinking behind such doomsday predictions.

The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar started 3114 BC with an end-date of December 21 or 23, 2012, spanning a time of 5125.36 years. On this date, the Long Count calendar will reach 13.0.0.0.0, with 13 units being a 144,000-day cycle. Does this date signify the end of civilization and a resetting of the calendar, or can it even continue beyond this time?

Some Mayan civilization experts argue that there's evidence the calendar continues beyond this date, extending even to 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0, with this particular calendar setting shown on one ancient Mayan inscription. According to their mythology, this specific time period signified the previous world's age upon ending.

Some authors and researchers of the Mayan civilization have fueled the belief in the current cycle ending in cataclysm. Accordingly, the Ancient Mayans believed that humanity experiences five cycles (we are nearing the end of the fifth cycle), and that the last four ended in major upheavals. An interpreted excerpt from one of their ancient texts, the Dresden Codex, points to a great flood occurring at the end of current cycle.

Among New-Age followers, December 2012 also indicates a time when our sun will align with the center of the galaxy, and because of this, will herald a period of higher consciousness and evolutionary change. This galactic event happens every 26,000 years.

At this moment of alignment, the galactic mass will be at its greatest, causing gravitational effects, which in turn will cause gravitational disturbances within our sun and consequently greatly influence solar activity.

What will purportedly add to the powerful effect of this alignment is the fact that when Jupiter and Saturn - the solar system's most massive planets - are on opposite sides of the sun, the solar maximums are at their strongest. And - guess what - at the time of the winter solstice in 2012 these planets will be in such position to influence powerful solar activity.

So this "perfect storm" of a galactic alignment and heightened solar maximum occurring at the same time leads many to believe something big has to happen. Like cataclysm.

This is how it's explained: the alignment and massive solar flares will spark major global disasters, first started by the impact of powerful solar radiation on the Earth, affecting its polarity. When this shift in polarity happens, the ocean currents could reverse, creating flooding of land masses and sparking volcanic activity. This chain reaction will bring about more climate change.

Or, at the least, this barrage of solar radiation charging the Earth's ionosphere could cause major interruptions of our electric and communication systems. This shutting down of our systems will affect our ability to generate and distribute fresh water and produce fresh food, among other dire scenarios.

But this galactic alignment is actually a gradual process and shift that takes place over a 36-year period, and that this convergence which corresponds to the diameter of the sun has already taken place in 1998. It's not as if for one day out of this 36-year cycle we will abruptly feel any devastating effects of this occurrence.

According to more metaphysical theories, it's believed this cosmic shift is already happening as a spiritual inclination toward incidence of more mystical phenomena and increased awareness of how we ultimately control the direction of humanity and the manifestation of our own reality through intent.

The Mayan Calendar "end date" in 2012 is believed by some to be a turning point of our evolution. I absolutely believe in the effects of the sun on our consciousness and accept that there isn't just one date that will affect us, but that we're seeing a new cycle of cosmic influences that produces shifts in perception, awareness, and growth. This concern for 12/21/12 is simply a means to help us see beyond our mundane existence and perhaps make us pay attention to the whisper of the possibility of something greater shaping our destiny. If nothing else, the overly dire and calamitous predictions will plant a seed from which possibly a new type of consciousness can grow.

And this new consciousness can portend that something significant and transforming could occur; and when group-mind beliefs are changed, we could very well shift our own course without the need for catastrophes, so we shall see. It's now 1,100+ days and counting...
